After the death of her adoptive father, Eva Vogler is surprised to receive a reliquary accompanied by a note: “only open it if you think it is necessary”. Upon revealing the contents of the small box, Eva is faced with unusual objects that refer to her origins: a ring with a Nazi coat of arms with the inscription “Eva, 1945” and photos that may be of her biological mother – a black woman surrounded by white children on a farm porch. Eva faces the puzzle of her identity. All of Eva’s certainties are put in check when her investigation leads her to a ruined property, Fazenda do Alpendre, where the figure of the old German Martin Hirsch will bring answers and danger to her journey.
