In the beginning it was not the verb, it was the drawing. At least that’s how humanity started trying to explain the world around. From cave paintings to emojis some millennia have passed, and humanity continues to explore ideas and try to understand the world around. And the drawing still follows a good way of explaining everything. The first animated series from Liquid Media Lab proposes this, condensing the thinkers in a few minutes and animated. The style chosen by the studio combines drawings with collages, which was the inspiration for the name of the series. The animation is accompanied by the narration of the singer Tiê, giving a light tone to dense contents such as nihilism and liquid society. The authors chosen for this first season of the series range from established names like Freud and Sartre to contemporary thinkers like Donna Haraway and Henry Jenkins. In less than 3 minutes, the idea of these thinkers is presented using a language that refers not only to stop motion animations but also to animated gifs. The result is a lively class that serves as an introduction to these ideas that stick together.
